The reason I flew to Africa was for the Wolfkop Weekender.
Part camping weekend away, part music festival, Wolfkop offers a unique, boutique festival experience that invites a discerning, music-loving audience to join in celebrating life, nature, art, and incredible electronic music. Each music lineup is carefully curated to create a sonic journey that suits the season, with a variety of soundscapes harmonizing with the effortless landscape that serves as our playground. It’s really about connecting with nature to an amazing soundtrack. We want you to leave not hungover, needing a holiday to recover, but feeling alive, refreshed, and relaxed, glowing with the signature Wolfkop vibe for weeks after.
The festival includes both luxury and standard camping options. It was a long-held dream of mine to visit this country, along with the opportunity to visit friends in Cape Town who had rented a super luxurious villa in the Clifton 4th Beach area, not to mention the thrill of new adventures, of course. Cape Town is an incredible city where I would gladly live! It has everything I love—an artsy vibe, interesting events, a long jogging path, beautiful beaches, colorful markets with tasty treats and souvenirs, restaurants with unique cuisine, especially seafood! There are places for fresh smoothies and juices, and perhaps the best cappuccino I’ve ever had—France and Italy would be envious.
I explored amazing wineries, each dressed in so much style, luxury, and artistry that while waiting to be served different wines with special pairings of snacks and chocolate treats, you just want to stay there forever, enjoying it endlessly.
We traveled in a Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC, an eye-catching 1980s pillarless coupe, to the festival, which is usually held far from populated areas so the music doesn’t disturb anyone, allowing people to immerse themselves fully in all the irresistible offerings that go hand in hand with this festival. The feeling is like being part of one big family—good-natured, smiling, beautiful people who are there to enjoy the moment, make new friends, and have fun. The music is non-stop, the party endless, and you can sleep or celebrate whenever and wherever you like.
The dress code is equally relaxed—sexy, eccentric, sparkling, and semi-nude… freedom breathes fully. It’s a sense of freedom and timelessness, like the romanticism of the hippie era but with a more modern twist. I highly recommend it to all lovers of electronic music.
